Move Fast and Fix Carbon
We’re set to capture 50,000 tons of CO2 annually from the atmosphere and store it in the ground. And we’re not stopping there – we’ll rapidly scale up, aiming to capture a staggering 1,000,000 tons of CO2 per year by 2040!
About CQT
At CQT, we are driven to combat climate change by creating a sustainable and efficient carbon removal solution. Since joining the startup ecosystem at Technical University of Munich (TUM) Venture Lab FAB in 2023, we get support from world-class researchers in the domains of climate sciences, resource management and forestry. TUM enabled us to build our proof of principle that achieved incredible results. We are now ready for the next step!
Problem
The IPCC not only calls for a drastic emissions’ reduction, but considers large-scale carbon removal indispensable to stay within the 1.5 and 2 °C global warming limits set by international agreements.
Current carbon removal solutions are prohibitively expensive or lack scalability. Consequently, many industries struggle to address their unavoidable emissions, thus missing their climate targets. Be it current voluntary commitments or upcoming compliance removal schemes.
Solution
Our innovative Bio-Based Direct Air Capture (BBDAC) system harnesses the power of photosynthesis to deliver a scalable, energy-efficient, and sustainable carbon removal solution. Using 80% less energy than traditional DAC methods, we assist forward-thinking companies in reducing their unavoidable emissions with voluntary carbon capture credits today and support those businesses that will need to comply with future mandatory mitigation regulations.
Goal and USPs
Harvesting CO2 in the desert
Our process involves growing specially bred plants in coastal desert areas to capture and store carbon efficiently.
